fructose

I’m learning that there are other reasons to avoid fructose. It is hypothesized that it’s a very “lipogenic” sugar, meaning that it easily creates fat. Furthermore, evidence supports the idea that fructose raises LDL levels. So you may want to avoid it if you have high cholesterol. (Fruits are very high in fructose. It’s ironic, isn’t it, that eating fruits can raise your cholesterol? Personally, my advice would be to eat fruits, but avoid high fructose corn syrup. That means cutting out non-diet sodas!) If you’re a diabetic, this all may be rather surprising, since historically diabetics have been counseled that fructose is superior to other sugars given its low glycemic index. However, that reasoning is being rethought given the potential of its deleterious effects.sub topic

I suppose that this is an appropriate time to say I’M NOT A DOCTOR (yet)! I’m just a first-year med student. So take everything I write with a grain of salt. And consult your own physician. Yada yada…. :-)
Heroes - Unexpected (1×16)Here’s a of a bag I made last weekend. Well, actually, it’s a close up shot that I took with my keychain camera, so PLEASE excuse the lo-res.

Here I am wearing a tank top (and matching belt) that were also made last weekend! I was on a roll! :))
Best episode in a long time and a fitting title for a show that just keeps giving us answers, as opposed to Lost, which just keeps giving us more questions. Claire’s mom continues to slide in and out of remembering things and ends up in the hospital, setting Claire off. Matt tells his wife about the diamonds and she tells him that some scientist named Mohinder has been calling. Sylar, pretending to be toaster-melter Zane, and Mohinder arrive in Montana to find a woman who can hear everything. And HRG convinces Isaac to help him track down Peter, catching him and Claude Raines on a rooftop

Ever heard of Bayes’ Theorem? It calculates the probability of a given event given the a priori occurrence of a related event. Wikipedia has a fine entry about it. Here’s an excerpt:
